What Makes These Tanks So Different?

Patented Design

The tanks are specifically designed for research aquatic species. They feature a bottom siphoning drain to remove debris. A safety mechanism to ensure tanks maintain the correct level. A sloped base so that the debris moves towards the siphon. A color that inhibits algae growth. And an adjustable flow valve with on/off indicator. Many Industry Firsts!

Enrichment, for Zebrafish?

Yes, studies have shown that enrichment in aquatic environments decreases animal cortisol levels. Tecniplast has enrichment that mimics the natural environment that can be inserted into the Aquatics Racks. Innovation and the 3R's are paramount to Biomedical Research.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We’re here to help

What are the installation requirements?

The system requires:

  • Electrical power supply with proper grounding
  • Reverse osmosis water connection
  • Dedicated drain connection
  • Adequate room ventilation and temperature control

What is the SuperMINI Aquatics System used for?

The SuperMINI is a compact recirculating aquatics system designed to house zebrafish and other small aquatic species under stable, controlled environmental conditions. It is ideal for small labs, quarantine rooms, and pilot studies.

How does the system maintain water quality?

Water is continuously recirculated through mechanical and biological filtration, heated in the sump, and passed through a UV disinfection unit before returning to the tanks. A portion of the water is automatically replaced daily with fresh water.

Does the system automatically control water parameters like pH and conductivity?

No this system does not. The system maintains stable physical conditions (temperature, flow, filtration), but monitoring and adjustment of parameters such as pH and conductivity are the responsibility of the user. The Stand Alone Active Blue Racks do Control These Parameters.

What type of water supply is required?

The system requires a reverse osmosis (RO) water supply for proper operation and to maintain water quality standards.

How often does the system change water?

The system performs automatic daily water exchange, typically around 10% of the total volume, helping maintain stable and consistent conditions.

How quiet is the system?

The SuperMINI is designed for low-noise operation, with sound levels typically below 65 dB, making it suitable for laboratory environments.
