After a very successful inaugural event in Italy last year, the VISTA Symposium will return in 2026—this time hosted in the United States at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Taking place August 10–13, the event will bring together leaders from across the biomedical research community to explore how digital technologies and automation are shaping the future of vivarium operations. This year’s symposium is especially exciting because it will be hosted onsite at one of Tecniplast’s newest fully automated vivarium projects, giving participants the opportunity to see these innovations operating in a real-world environment.
A highlight of the event will be a guided tour of the Rutgers automated vivarium, where attendees will see how integrated automation, digital monitoring, and modern facility design can improve efficiency, support staff, and enhance animal welfare.
Participants can expect:
• A site tour of Rutgers’ state-of-the-art automated vivarium
• Presentations from leading industry experts from academia, pharma, and facility design
• Discussions on automation, digital vivariums, and operational efficiency
• Sessions on animal welfare, facility planning, and emerging technologies
• Opportunities to explore how digital systems support New Approach Methodologies (NAMs)
• Fun networking events, group dinners, and social activities with peers across the industry
The program is designed for veterinarian directors, operations leaders, facility managers, architects, planners, and engineers who are interested in building the next generation of research facilities.
